For Aldo Borreca, owner and Executive Chef of Aldo’s Cucina Ristorante Italiano in Wayne, his restaurant is more than just a place to feed people, it’s a place to watch families enjoy each other’s company and grow. Over 22 years ago, Borreca opened the doors to Aldo’s Cucina in hopes of offering Italian cuisine in an upscale, family setting. Seems counterintuitive? For Borreca, it wasn’t. “When I opened the restaurant, I had small kids of my own,” remembers Borreca. “I wanted to offer my guests the same upscale, high quality food that they would get at a fancy restaurant, in a setting that welcomes guests of all ages, but still feels a bit fancy.” Now, 22 years later, Borreca’s kids are grown as are the kids who once came in with their parents.
